David Boeving has earned an MSW from University of Michigan under the Interpersonal Practice in Integrated Health, Mental Health, and Substance Abuse pathway (2021); an MA in Creative Writing from Eastern Michigan University (2016); and a BS in Philosophy, and in Language Literature and Writing, also from Eastern Michigan University (2012). During their MSW, David interned as a psychotherapist with the Perinatal Clinic at Michigan Medicine’s Department of Psychiatry, where they offered psychotherapy to a variety of clients within—and beyond—the perinatal period, including group DBT therapy. While attending EMU, David worked as the BathHouse Reading Series Coordinator, and was an editor for the BathHouse Hybrid Arts Journal. David has continued editing since graduating from EMU, including book-length works of poetry and experimental fiction, and a book on preventing suicide. David has published poems, photographs, and pedagogy – including Letters to _____; or Restless Quintet. David teaches in the Huron Valley Women’s Correctional Facility, and produces wellness-focused writing content through YpsiWrites Write for Wellness initiative. They also teach Creative Writing at EMU and offer psychotherapy through COR Counseling.
